I spent the week doing some much needed spring cleaning and went crazy on the garage and car. I had some seriously disgusting before shots for you all to ohh and ahh over. But wouldn’t you know I took them with my iPhone and then it died. Sooooo no pictures. Sorry, anyway the car looks fantabulous but if you have a herd of children like we do, the car never smells great. So I generally like to have a few odor- eliminating sachets under the seats. This is the best way to make them. It is fast, inexpensive, and seriously effective.

You will need some ground coffee, an old towel or piece of fabric, some thread or anything to tie your sachets with, and scissors.

Cut your towel into 4 square pieces.

Add 2 tablespoons of ground coffee to each square and tie closed with your thread.

Tada 4 lovely seriously powerful odor eliminators. I placed 3 under seats in the car.

And one behind the toilet. I have 3 boys so I am sure you can understand.
These will need to be refreshed every month or so. So much better for the environment, your family, and you budget that using the store bought air-fresheners. And they smell way better than those artificial scents.

Is there anything else that smells strong enough to put in those sachets? I would honestly hate it if my house and car smelled like coffee.
You could try baking soda and just a bit of coffee. Maybe 1 tablespoon of each. Baking powder is a great odor absorber and you really don’t smell the coffee too much. Give it a shot and see how it goes!
Hi Sarah, can you use used grounds? I have a houseful of males both the two legged and four legged kind!
Sure! I would probably let them dry out first but should be just fine!
I love this idea. Coffee is so great for odor absorption, and you make the task so darn cute!
So smart!
This is fantastic! I love little things this! My sister and I just started a new website, The Thrifty Turtle, and I was wondering if you would be interested in posting this as a guest post over there? This would be right in line with what we’re trying to do on that website! If not, I will definitely highlight this on my Turtle’s Life FB page for you since that’s where you originally linked up, but I thought I’d check first to see if we could use it on the other blog. Just let me know! Thanks!
